07 Aug Recycling and reuse: transforming refrigerated truck bodies into secondary raw material
A refrigerated truck body is an insulated compartment installed on a vehicle, designed for transporting goods that require temperature control.
There are various types of refrigerated bodies, which differ in size, temperature range, type of insulation, and refrigeration system.
The structure of a refrigerated body consists mainly of:
1. Cell material
- Recyclable plastic: the refrigerated cell is made from recyclable plastic materials such as high-density polyethylene (HDPE) or polypropylene (PP). These materials offer excellent insulating properties, strength, and lightness.
2. Insulation
- Expanded polystyrene foam (EPS): the interior of the walls, floor, and ceiling is insulated with expanded polystyrene foam, which is also recyclable and offers excellent temperature maintenance capabilities.
3. Internal coating
- Smooth and hygienic surface: the internal coating is made of recyclable plastic with a smooth surface to facilitate cleaning and maintain high hygiene standards, essential for the transport of food products.
Combining composite materials with a complex installation and strong insulating capacity can offer significant advantages over cells with metallic panel coatings. Refrigerated truck bodies are used for transporting a wide range of products that require controlled temperatures. They are, therefore, an indispensable means of transportation for goods that need temperature regulation.o indispensabile per la movimentazione di merci che necessitano di una temperatura controllata.
Advanced recycling solutions for refrigerated truck bodies
We provided a European leader in refrigerated bodies, known for its technological innovation and industrial expansion, with a dual-shaft shredder with 18.5kW electric motorization from the K25HP series, for the recovery of refrigerated truck cells. The plastic sheets are disassembled and shredded, then regranulated to be used as secondary raw materials in the production of new refrigerated bodies.
Shredders in this family are used in industrial settings for the volumetric reduction of materials such as plastic (sprues in PET, HDPE, PVC, PP, or PC and plastic in general, pipes and profiles, PET bottles, drums, and IBCs in HDPE, automotive components in ABS, PU, PP, PE), RDF and SRF, packaging, oil filters, food scraps, waste and aluminum cans, electronic waste, metal waste, confidential documents, paper, cardboard, wooden pallets, hazardous and pharmaceutical waste.
For materials approved by SatrindTech, the K25HP series is also available with the patented CL configuration, which allows for a regular size of the output material.
