Shredding of Pharmaceutical Chemical Products

There are companies closer to us than we might think that make waste disposal aimed at energy recovery their vocation, their objective, capable of designing and building plants for all types of waste treatment, particularly in the chemical and petroleum sectors.

This is the case of a company in the province of Bergamo, to which we have just delivered a 4-shaft shredder from the 4S series with 40 HP, equipped with a special loading hopper, to be integrated into a new production line for shredding pharmaceutical chemical products, mainly blister packs, plastic, drums up to 75 liters, bags and other similar materials.

The customer, with the choice of the 4S shredder, will be able to obtain a ground material with homogeneous particle size suitable for the production cycle, as the shredder is equipped with 40 mm blades (2 and 5 tips) and a selection screen with 50 mm diameter holes.

The 4S series, available in 40 and 60 HP versions, is distinguished by several features that make it more effective and efficient compared to two- and three-shaft shredders:

• The blade-carrying shafts also shred in reverse, thus increasing productivity; furthermore, working in pairs, they can manage separate or combined reversals according to process requirements.
• The PLC program that controls the shredder allows different customized shredding phases to be stored, so as to adapt the shredding process to the material.
• The 4S series also reduces maintenance time and costs as its innovative technical features allow blade replacement, both for wear and configuration modification, more quickly than other series on the market: the blade-carrying shafts can be extracted very easily from the body, inserting the new set and reducing machine downtime.

The loading hopper was designed and manufactured according to the customer’s specific requirements, so that it fits into the production line like a tailor-made suit.

All this certainly makes the shredding of pharmaceutical chemical products more efficient and fully satisfies the customer’s needs, thanks to the flexibility features offered by the product.
