Discover our new shredder model with overload protection damping unit!
We are pleased to announce that SatrindTech will be present at the Ecomondo 2024 trade fair in Rimini, from November 5 to 8, hall A1 stand 407-306, where we will present our new shredder model, equipped with an innovative damping unit for overload protection. This advanced mechanical device represents a guarantee of safety and reliability for your plant, designed to protect the transmission system from sudden overloads during operation.
Innovative overload protection system
The damping unit effectively isolates the electrical transmission section, consisting of motor and planetary gearbox, from the main shredder drive (gearbox and shafts). In case of blockage during the shredding phase, the dry friction discs slip and, through a sensor connected to the PLC, the system detects the stoppage of the shredder shafts, immediately stopping the motor rotation within a fraction of a second. This protection mechanism ensures the integrity of the drive and signals any anomalies, which must be resolved before restarting the machine.
Easy maintenance
The damping unit consists of two sections connected by friction discs, which transmit torque through adjustable compression via preloaded springs. This allows setting the maximum transmissible torque and adapting the system to specific operational requirements. Furthermore, natural wear of the discs may reduce the spring preload over time, but our technicians are ready to intervene during maintenance to adjust the compression and restore optimal values.
The damping unit is pre-adjusted by SatrindTech according to the shredder’s characteristics, thus ensuring optimal operation from the first use.
