• Simplified maintenance and improved safety: the advanced structure results in a significant reduction in routine and extraordinary maintenance costs, thanks to the elimination of filters, oil, valves, pumps, and hydraulic motors. Furthermore, it prevents the risk associated with the circulation of hot oil at high pressure.

The 50 HP and 150 HP electric drive shredder models, featuring automatic transmission, introduce significant technical improvements in motion transmission. The drive unit of these series includes:

• a 37 kW electric motor for the K60M series and a dual motor, including one at 75 kW, for the K150M;
• an automatic transmission for smooth and precise motion transmission, integrated directly with the machine’s internal mechanisms;
• an advanced regulation and control system for optimal performance management.

In the K150M series, a clutch engaged at the output of the 75 kW motor allows this motor to be disengaged during the blade shaft reversal phase, managed by the 37 kW motor.

The grinding chamber of this series can be optionally equipped with a torque limiter, designed to protect the drive train from the presence of non-shreddable material during the shredding process.

The torque limiter engages whenever the detected torque exceeds the reversal torque, disengaging the clutch and preventing the stress from affecting the gearbox and automatic transmission.

Productivity, compactness, low noise, and ease of maintenance are the fundamental characteristics that distinguish the automatic transmission serving the K60M and K150M series electric drive shredders.

In these two new series with automatic transmission, it is possible to replace the bulky and noisy hydraulic power unit with a more compact electric drive system.

This represents a significant competitive advantage for the customer, with an even lower operating cost. The operating logic is controlled by a PLC and, among other things, the machinery is compliant with Industry 4.0 standards.

The optimal management of power transmission by the 150 HP motor ultimately prevents both the peak during startup due to high current draw and achieves optimal torque in shorter times. The system integrates, as in the K60M series, the automatic speed and torque regulation functionalities, distinctive features of hydraulic drives, with the benefits offered by electric technology.

This technical solution can be applied with extreme flexibility to a wide range of shredding applications. The two new series with automatic transmission are ideal for significant performance. The materials that can be processed include:

• plastics (PET, HDPE, PVC, PP or PC sprues and plastic in general, pipes and profiles, HDPE drums and cubitainers, automotive components in ABS, PU, PP, PE);
• RDF and SRF
• metal drums;
• packaging;
• car tires, debeaded truck tires;
• oil filters;
• electronic waste (WEEE) and industrial waste;
• cardboard and wooden pallets;
• hazardous and pharmaceutical waste.
