Customized shredding solution at a waste-to-energy plant in the West Pomeranian Voivodeship, Poland<\/h2><\/div>

Industrial MSW and bulky waste shredder in line with recent European regulations on recycling and recovery<\/h3><\/div>

Waste management is one of the primary challenges facing our society. The issue is certainly complex: the way waste is treated involves both the mindset of ordinary citizens and political will, which has not always proven strong enough to address the heart of the problem. SatrindTech, however, does not deal with grand philosophical questions. What we excel at is tackling problems head-on with the enthusiasm of our team<\/strong> and the controlled power of our machines<\/strong>. Today we take you to Poland, to the West Pomeranian Voivodeship, where one of our 2-shaft shredders<\/strong> has been installed in a waste-to-energy plant as part of a waste-to-energy<\/strong> project. <\/p>\n

In partnership with a major Italian group, we provided our expertise for a facility that includes an industrial shredder for MSW<\/a> and bulky waste<\/a><\/strong> (MSW \u2013 Municipal Solid Waste<\/em>) at a collection and recovery center featuring an incinerator.<\/p>\n<\/div>

Customized shredding solution for MSW treatment in Poland<\/h3><\/div>

Poland has aligned its legislation with European directives on waste treatment, implementing a law since 2016 that prohibits the landfilling of municipal solid waste with a calorific value exceeding 6 MJ\/kg<\/strong>. This regulatory innovation has triggered measures to overhaul old landfills and disposal centers to make them compatible with the new legislative framework. <\/p>\n

The SatrindTech team was brought in specifically for its know-how<\/em> in the disposal of bulky waste and MSW. It is estimated that every European citizen produces one kilogram of MSW per day<\/strong>. Beyond recycling, which is not possible for all materials, it becomes essential to introduce effective processing methods<\/strong> to reduce volume and make these waste materials suitable for further treatment. <\/p>\n

The disposal plant introduced near the incinerator was installed by the client, supported and assisted by the main contractor directly on-site. SatrindTech’s technical assistance service was involved in the start-up and testing phases of the plant<\/strong>, as well as in the training of local personnel<\/strong>. <\/p>\n

The heart of the installation is a 2-shaft shredder model 2R 15\/150<\/strong> with a power of 110 kW (150 HP). The shredder is equipped with 5-1 hook blades with a thickness of 75 mm. The shredder is topped by a large hopper for loading with a mechanical grab. To complete the supply, we installed a frame with an access ladder and walkway. The electronic and control components are managed by a panel with a Siemens PLC.<\/p>\n<\/div>

\"Industrial<\/span><\/div>

The output material is directed toward an initial 12-meter discharge conveyor and a subsequent bidirectional conveyor. All documentation required for sales and installation, as well as manuals with operating and maintenance specifications, were prepared in two languages, namely English and Polish.<\/p>\n<\/div>

The European directives<\/strong> are based on three different but complementary objectives:<\/p>\n

    One of SatrindTech’s goals is to provide devices designed to facilitate the achievement of the second and third objectives. In our advanced Western societies, a fundamental concept for environmental respect is increasingly gaining ground: that of the circular economy<\/strong>. Human artifacts should be designed to imitate how nature operates. Nature does not recognize the concept of “throwing away”: everything is reincorporated and reused.
