The <strong>shredded material <\/strong>aids combustion in the furnace cycle of cement production using <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Waste-to-energy\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>waste to energy<\/strong> <\/a>logic.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Custom 3R 15\/200 industrial shredding plant: an engineering work we are proud of for the waste to energy<\/h3>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>What we have installed in China is a reasonably powered system designed for intensive use and compatible with different materials that make up large objects.\u00a0 The installation work was a real engineering challenge, but we are extremely satisfied with the result.<\/p>\n<p>The heart of the system consists of an <strong>industrial 150 kW, 200 hp, three-shaft shredder model <a href=\"\/?page_id=16978\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">3R 15\/200<\/a><\/strong>.\u00a0 The shredder is equipped with <strong>50 mm thick\u00a0 5-1 hook<\/strong> <strong>blades<\/strong> and material selection grids with 100 mm holes.<\/p>\n<p><img wpfc-lazyload-disable=\"true\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-22688 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/satrindtech.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/3-shaft-shredder-3r200hp.jpg\" alt=\"Custom 3 shafts industrial shredder 3R 200 HP hydraulic drive for the waste to energy\" width=\"600\" height=\"374\" srcset=\"https:\/\/satrindtech.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/3-shaft-shredder-3r200hp.jpg 600w, https:\/\/satrindtech.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/3-shaft-shredder-3r200hp-300x187.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The plant is mounted on a <strong>support stand <\/strong>equipped with walkways connected to a large <strong>primary hopper<\/strong>.\u00a0 The hopper is divided into chambers separated by <strong>automatic shutters<\/strong> and connected to a secondary discharge hopper which can be closed by a shutter.<\/p>\n<p>The shredder operation is controlled by a <strong>Siemens PLC management system<\/strong>, which is the plant \u2019s nervous system.\u00a0 The Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) has three different interfaces:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Directly near the machine through a convenient <strong>touch display<\/strong> installed on the electrical panel.<\/li>\n<li>Remote: the PLC is connected with a long cable to a remote room &#8211; the Distributed Control System (DCS). Thanks to the<strong> Profibus communication protocol,<\/strong> the shredder can be operated from one of the site control rooms, eliminating the need for the constant presence of an operator close to the plant.<\/li>\n<li>Remote assistance: the PLC is connected to a <strong>gateway module equipped with a SIM and UMTS antenna<\/strong> that allows SatrindTech technicians to connect to the PLC software remotely. We can monitor the system\u2019s proper functioning, manage any anomalies and make periodic changes through upgrades and updates, without moving from our offices.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>The plant\u2019s special features<\/h3>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The machine we installed in China shreds <strong>baled fabric and clothing, empty standard 200 litre metal drums and IBCs with a frame.<\/strong> Once shredded to minimise their volume, these waste materials are subjected to a controlled combustion process inside the cement plant to fuel combustion in the firing process in the cement mixture\u2019s furnace. This reduces costs and environmental impact, which is the central idea of the waste to energy principle.<\/p>\n<p>Given the complexity and the entire system\u2019s significant size, it was necessary to prepare the configuration of the whole system to <strong>simplify future maintenance operations as much as possible.<\/strong>\u00a0 The shredder can be <strong>removed<\/strong> from its base <strong>using a winch<\/strong>. By releasing the grinding body from the overlying hopper, it can be slid on rails and be extracted so that the<strong> blades can be sharpened<\/strong> or replaced when needed.\u00a0 Given the plant\u2019s unusual nature and the construction complexity, a considerable part of the project included issuing technical manuals on the product specifications and operation.<\/p>\n<p>This installation consists of a sophisticated <strong>system of opening and sealed closing of shutters<\/strong>.\u00a0 The plant treats hazardous waste.
